CBS is considering bringing CSI back as a limited-series

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation was one of the biggest shows on television, spanning fifteen seasons and spawning three spin-offs, CSI: Miami, CSI: New York, and CSI: Cyber, and it appears as though CBS may be plotting a revival of the series in order celebrate its upcoming 20th anniversary. Time to break out the luminol.

The revival will be a limited-series sequel to the original show which will set in Las Vegas and the plan is to include a few original cast members. It's been said that both William Petersen, who played Gil Grissom, and Jorja Fox, who played Sara Sidle, have been approached about the project but that no formal offers have been made at this point. Jason Tracey (Elementary) is tackling the script for the new CSI, but it's important to note that the project is still in the very early stages and could easily fall apart, but talk of CSI's resurrection apparently began not too long after the series came to an end in 2015. We've seen plenty of revivals of once-popular TV shows over the past few years, including 24, Prison Break, Heroes, Rosanne, The X-Files, Will & Grace, Mad About You, Gilmore Girls, and more. While I didn't watch much of the original series past the exit of William Petersen, I'd certainly be down for the old gang reuniting to solve a few more crimes in Las Vegas. This revival could even serve as an excuse to bring back a few characters from the CSI spin-offs, because you know you want to see David Caruso slowly put on his sunglasses one last time. You know it.

Any CSI fans out there who would be eager to see the franchise make a comeback?
