This Friday, August 5th, Lionsgate will be releasing a very interesting film called Cave Rescue, which is based on true events and stars several of the people who were involved with the real situation. With the theatrical, digital, and VOD release of Cave Rescue just a few days away, we’re proud to share an EXCLUSIVE clip that offers a glimpse at the titular rescue efforts. Check it out in the embed above!

Written and directed by Tom Waller (The Last Executioner) – with Don Linder and Katrina Grose receiving story credit – Cave Rescue has the following synopsis:

What’s it like to be trapped in a cave for 18 days? How does it feel to be part of one of the biggest rescue missions in history? When rising floodwaters trap a boys soccer team in a cave system in Thailand, an Irish cave diver (Jim Warny, as himself) joins the massive effort to save them. Shot at the original locations – and featuring real heroes involved in the rescue – this incredible saga based on true events is as close as you can get to experiencing for yourself the intensity of this inspiring adventure.

The true events that Cave Rescue is based on took place in June and July of 2018. Warny is joined in the cast by Ekawat Niratvorapanya (Girl from Nowhere) and Lawrence de Stefano (The Flight Attendant).

Waller produced Cave Rescue with Allen Liu. Didier Costet was co-producer. Associate producers were Katrina Grose and Somboon Vichaisre, while Jonah Greenberg and Desmond O’Neill served as executive producers.

This weekend’s theatrical, digital, and On Demand release of Cave Rescue will be followed by a DVD and Blu-ray release that is scheduled for September 13th.
