Two comedic actors are now attached to new projects, and one young actress has landed roles in a couple of upcoming films.
Deadline has learned TriStar has preemptively bought the pitch for THE YANK, with Will Ferrell playing "a mild mannered insurance courier who gets caught up in a conspiracy to steal the Crown Jewels in London." The script for the fish out of water comedy will be written by Steve Pink (HOT TUB TIME MACHINE) and Jeff Morris.
Also from Deadline comes word Johnny Knoxville is in talks to star in SICK DAY, which has been described as FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF for adults. Knoxville will play "one of three thirtysomething friends who uphold a tradition of calling in sick one day a year to fulfill fantasies while not getting caught," and SICK DAY will be directed by THE BREAK UP scribe Jeremy Garelick.
Halston Sage will appear in this summer's Seth Rogen and Zac Efron comedy NEIGHBORS, and THR is reporting the actress has joined GOOSEBUMPS and SCOUTS VS ZOMBIES.
GOOSEBUMPS will feature Jack Black as children's horror writer R.L. Stine, and is being directed by GULLIVER'S TRAVELS' Rob Letterman, from a script by Mike White and Darren Lemke. GOOSEBUMPS is set to hit theaters on March 23rd, 2016.
The horror comedy SCOUTS VS ZOMBIES comes from PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE MARKED ONES director Christopher Landon, and will follow, "three high school Boy Scouts who must use their skills to battle vicious zombies after their small town faces a zombie outbreak." Also starring in SCOUTS VS ZOMBIES will be Tye Sheridan, Logan Miller, David Koechner, and Arnold Schwarzenegger's son Patrick.
