Casey Affleck has signed on to star in SUNSHINE CLEANING director Christine Jeffs' new film, an independent thriller called EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE. Filming is set to begin in Vancouver this month.
Affleck's co-stars in the film will include Sam Claflin, Michelle Monaghan (who is currently working on the remake of THE CRAFT), and Veronica Ferres. The character Affleck will be playing is a
psychiatrist whose career is thrown into jeopardy when his patient takes her own life. When he invites his patient’s surviving brother (Claflin) into his home to meet his wife (Monaghan) and daughter, his family life is suddenly torn apart.
Sounds like a decent enough set-up for thrills.
Ferres is producing EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE with Frank Buchs of Construction Film and Richard B. Lewis of Southpaw Entertainment. Jon Levin of Fourward Entertainment, Southpaw's Gabrielle Jerou-Tabak, and Tannaz Anisi and Gregory R. Schenz of 13 Films serve as executive producers.
Lewis released a statement saying he is
extremely pleased that the gifted Christine Jeffs and our world-class cast have come together to bring this amazing thriller to life, as it touches on themes of family, betrayal and redemption that are universal and resonate for all of us."
13 Films holds the worldwide rights to the project and will be presenting it to potential buyers at this month's American Film Market.
