MANCHESTER BY THE SEA follows a man (Casey Affleck) who returns to his hometown following the death of his brother (Kyle Chandler) to take care of his teen-aged nephew (Lucas Hedges). Amazon Studios paid $10 million to acquire the rights for this flick, so you’re probably not going to see too much promotion for its limited theatrical release, but here’s a trailer that delivers some serious family drama!
Frankly, I could watch Casey Affleck portray any character from Boston and enjoy it thoroughly, regardless of the movie’s end result. Fortunately for us, word on the street is that MANCHESTER BY THE SEA is the real deal. You can check our our review from Sundance HERE, but suffice it to say that some of the actors on display deliver great performances. And I’ll be damned if Matthew Perryman Jones’ song at the end of the trailer, Land of the Living, isn’t pretty catchy!
MANCHESTER BY THE SEA will see a limited theatrical release on November 18, 2016.
