James Bond Producers, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli today released the official title of the 25th James Bond adventure, NO TIME TO DIE. The film, which hails from Albert R. Broccoli’s EON Productions, Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios and Universal Pictures International is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (BEASTS OF NO NATION, MANIAC) with Bond actor Daniel Craig in the title role. This will be Craig's fifth time playing the world famous British Intelligence super spy based on the work of Ian Fleming.
Penning the script for Bond's latest adventure are Neal Purvis & Robert Wade (SPECTRE, SKYFALL), Cary Joji Fukunaga, Scott Z. Burns (THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM) and and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (FLEABAG). In addition to Craig, NO TIME TO DIE also stars Rami Malek, Léa Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Billy Magnussen, Ana de Armas, Rory Kinnear, David Dencik, Dali Benssalah with Jeffrey Wright and Ralph Fiennes.
Here's the official synopsis for NO TIME TO DIE:
Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
As you're likely to know, the Bond film series has done wonders for MGM throughout the years. In fact, CASINO ROYALE, QUANTUM OF SOLACE, SKYFALL and SPECTRE have grossed more than $3.1 billion in worldwide box office receipts. When infiltrating the math of it all, you'll find that SKYFALL ($1.1 billion) and SPECTRE ($800 million) were among the most lucrative installments of the franchise.
NO TIME TO DIE has certainly had its share of problems during the film's development, such as Danny Boyle exiting as the film's director as well as injuries on-set that halted the production, if only for a short period of time. With all of that in mind, I'm sure that Team Bond is looking forward to crossing the finish line, and finally sharing Craig's cinematic swan song as the time-honored Lothario.
NO TIME TO DIE is set to release in the U.K. on April 3, 2020 and in the U.S. on April 8, 2020.
