The Good Fight‘s Carrie Preston has joined the cast of John Logan’s untitled film project at Blumhouse (via Deadline). Previously known as Whistler Camp, this will mark Logan’s feature directorial debut. Even though the film has yet to be titled, we know it’s an LGBTQIA+ empowerment story set at a gay conversion camp.

The mysterious film already stars Theo Germaine (Work in Progress, Adam) and Kevin Bacon (Tremors, Stir of Echoes), with Bacon also set to executive produce. Jason Blum and Michael Aguilar are producing, with Scott Turner Schofield executive producing.

Known to many as Elsbeth Tascioni on CBS’s The Good Wife, Preston also starred as Arlene Fowler on HBO’s True Blood. Currently, she stars as Polly on TNT’s Claws and can be seen in the Peacock Original series Dr. Death, starring Joshua Jackson as neurosurgeon Dr. Christopher Duntsch.

Preston recently wrapped production on Space Oddity, a romantic science-fiction comedy directed by Kyra Sedgwick. In the film written by Rebecca Banner, a man seeks help from an insurance company to plan a one-way trip to Mars. The film also stars Alexandra Shipp, Kyle Allen, Madeline Brewer, Simon Helberg, Kevin Bacon, Andrew Polk, Arden Myrin, and Alessandra Noelle Rosenfeld.

If John Logan’s name looks familiar, it’s likely because he wrote such celebrated films as Rango, Skyfall, and Alien: Covenant, just to name a few. He’s also the driving force behind the Penny Dreadful TV series, as well as Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. He’s spent a great deal of his career in the writing room. Now it’s time to see what he can do behind a camera. We’ll be sure to bring you more updates on this project as it comes together.
