Based on Stephen King's first published novel, CARRIE became a smash hit in 1976 when it hit theaters and helped launch the careers of many of the film's stars, including Sissy Spacek and John Travolta, as well as the director, Brian DePalma. The story revolves around a bullied teenage girl who discovers she has telekinetic powers. When pushed to the brink, she unleashes the full fury of those powers, resulting in a bloody and fiery conclusion that's stuck with audiences since its debut. It's a great horror flick and one that helped to influence the style and tone that DePalma would use again and again in his later films. Now, to celebrate the film's 40th Anniversary, we've whipped up a nifty tribute video. We promise, no one will laugh at you for watching it.
