The first season of Amazon Prime's CARNIVAL ROW starring Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne hit the streaming service back in August. We already knew a second season was heading our way before the first even hit the air, and today we have confirmation via the show's official Twitter account which just let us all know that season two has begun shooting.

If you didn't hear the news recently, this new season is also coming with a new showrunner. Yes, Erik Oleson (Arrow, Daredevil, and The Man in the High Castle) has replaced season 1 showrunner Marc Guggenheim so he can focus on another superhero TV series or something. This is ironic considering that Guggenheim was a replacement showrunner when Rene Echevarria was let go when reshoots were required for season 1.
The show centers on
A growing population of mythological immigrant creatures struggles to coexist with humans after the creatures' exotic homelands are invaded by the empires of man. The creatures are forbidden to live, love or fly with freedom, but hope lives in darkness. Human detective Rycroft "Philo" Philostrate and a refugee faerie, Vignette Stonemoss, rekindle a dangerous affair despite being in an increasingly intolerant society. Vignette has a secret that endangers Philo's world during his most important case yet — a string of gruesome murders threatening the uneasy peace of the Row.
The series is created by René Echevarria and Travis Beacham based on A Killing on Carnival Row by Beacham. It stars Orlando Bloom, Cara Delevingne, Simon McBurney, Tamzin Merchant, David Gyasi, Andrew Gower, Karla Crome, Arty Froushan, Indira Varma, and Jared Harris.
