Carla Gugino would love to return for Haunting of Hill House S2

Netflix and director Mike Flanagan's new masterpiece of TV The Haunting of Hill House has been gathering up fans left and right throughout the past month, and for good reason too. The series is legitimately one of the best things I've seen hit TV since BREAKING BAD and the first season of HBO's TRUE DETECTIVE. And if you've seen the series, then you'll know that this isn't hyperbole.

Flanagan has already let us all know that there are currently NO plans for a second season (yet), but if Netflix and Amblin ask for one, it will definitely not include the Crains. In fact, Flanagan is so set on this that he recently reiterated his Crain-less season 2 plan to TV Line telling them:

We tied up all of those threads exactly how they should be. I don’t really see a need to revisit those characters, even in cameos. I want to remember them the way we left them, and leave them to their lives.

Okay, but where does that leave a possible season 2 then? Well, it seems that Flanagan has been keeping his go-to cast in the loop as Carla Gugino (see above) just mentioned to THR that Flanagan said he would be interested in an anthology, where actors come back to play different characters, ala AMERICAN HORROR STORY. So how does Gugino feel about returning to Hill House?

Mike Flanagan said he would be interested in the notion of an anthology, where some actors come back to play different characters. I think he feels like he has told the complete story of the Crain family. But if I was invited and I was able to, I would really love to, just because I do love to collaborate with him.

I think I speak for all of us horror fans out there when I say, "Please Mike Flanagan, if there is a season 2, whatever it is, please bring back Gugino!"
