Along with a slate of big-screen movies, the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will also play out on the Disney+ streaming service in a handful of new shows, one of which will feature Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprising their roles of Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, also known as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Production on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has been underway for several months, and it seems that the series has welcomed a new member of its cast. Carl Lumbly, who has appeared in just about everything from Cagney & Lacey, L.A. Law, M.A.N.T.I.S., The X-Files, Alias, Battlestar Galactica, Grey's Anatomy, Zoo, Supergirl, and more, has joined the cast of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. As usual, there's no information on just who Lumbly will be playing in the series, but Deadline theorizes that he could be playing Isaiah Bradley, the black Captain America. The character first appeared in Truth: Red, White & Black, a limited-series which followed a regiment of black soldiers who were forced to act as test subjects in an attempt to recreate the super-soldier formula which turned Steve Rogers into Captain America. While Bradley would certainly be an interesting addition to the Captain America saga unfolding in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, it's best not to assume anything until its official. Carl Lumbly was most recently seen on the big-screen in DOCTOR SLEEP, where he played Dick Halloran.
