Director Rupert Wyatt impressed the hell out of the world when he directed the much better than it had any right to be reboot of THE PLANET OF THE APES with RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. We keep our eyes on Wyatt here at AITH, and so today we wanted to make sure to share the new trailer for his upcoming film. It's called CAPTIVE STATE, and it has one hell of a cast including John Goodman and Vera Farmiga.
Personally, this is one of those films that I'm just going to go right ahead and skip watching the trailer. I saw the teaser that was released a few months back and that – along with the cast and Wyatt – was enough to secure a viewing from this guy. No need for potential spoilers. I'm all good. But don't let that stop you. You can check out the new trailer and the poster below and then make sure to let us know what you think!
Wyatt co-wrote the film's screenplay along with Erica Beeny (THE BATTLE AT SHAKER HEIGHTS). It follows:
Residents of a Chicago neighborhood who must deal with life under extraterrestrial rule.
The upcoming sci-fi thriller also stars Ashton Sanders (MOONLIGHT, STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON), Jonathan Majors (HOSTILES, WHITE BOY RICK), Madeline Brewer (CAM), James Ransone (IT: CHAPTER TWO), Alan Ruck (FERRIS BUELLER), Kevin J. O'Connor (ENTOURAGE), Ben Daniels (THE EXORCIST), D.B. Sweeney, Kevin Dunn (STIR OF ECHOES), and Colson Baker a.k.a. Machine Gun Kelly in his big screen debut.
CAPTIVE STATE invades theaters on March 29, 2019.
