Captain Marvel, Brie Larson, Marvel, $1 Billion

It wasn't all that long ago that a film grossing over $1 billion at the box-office was a rare occurrence, but the past decade has seen close to forty films join the billion dollar club, and it seems that CAPTAIN MARVEL is the latest member. Starring Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, the film followed Danvers as she got caught in the middle of a galactic conflict between two alien civilizations and became the hero known as Captain Marvel.

Now, less than a month after its release, CAPTAIN MARVEL has become the seventh film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to gross over $1 billion, garnering $358.1 million in North America and $644.5 internationally for a total of $1,002.6 million. Not bad at all. Brie Larson took to Twitter to celebrate the achievement, saying, "Our girl Carol Danvers just joined the One Billion Club! Thank you endlessly for helping us cross this milestone. It has been a pleasure sharing this character with the world. I’ve loved seeing the cosplay, fan art and passionate words about our HERo. Higher Further Faster baby!"

It's yet another win for Marvel, but with AVENGERS: ENDGAME hitting theaters in just several weeks, the studio will likely have another billion dollar winner on their hands. As AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR is a member of the $2 billion club, it stands to reason that ENDGAME might just stand at the top of the Marvel heap when all is said and done.

CAPTAIN MARVEL is now playing in theaters, so be sure to check out reviews from our own JimmyO and Kalyn Corrigan and be sure to let us know what YOU thought of the film as well!
