With the upcoming CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR shaping up to be one of Marvel's best efforts to date, there's plenty to be excited about; not only will CIVIL WAR gather together an impressive roster of Marvel heroes including Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), and Spider-Man (Tom Holland) among others, but it will also raise the bar for big-screen action.
Per ScreenRant, one of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR's action sequences will stretch to fifteen minutes in length and feature many of the films main characters going head to head. We've already seen the beginnings of this sequence, known as the "splash-page", in several of the trailers as Team Cap faces off against Team Stark. Joe and Anthony Russo revealed that not only will this sequence be a showcase for the entire film, but it will also show off the brand new IMAX/ARRI 2D digital camera.
This whole sequence is in IMAX, it’s about a 15-minute sequence. It’s the only one that we’re doing on the camera. The camera literally just rolled off the press like a week before we started using it. It’s an IMAX 65, so it’s the ARRI’s 65. It’s a join camera between ARRI’s and IMAX. We’re going to shoot all of Infinity War on those cameras.
As Joe and Anthony Russo will be helming both parts of Marvel's AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, which will be the first Hollywood feature-film to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras, this sequence should prove to be a welcome teaser for the visual scope of Marvel's upcoming epic.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
