Canuxploitation oddity Things heads to DVD next month

Have you ever heard of Canuxploitation? As the name would suggest, it’s used to classify exploitative B-movie exports from Canada. A prime example of the subgenre is THINGS, which was the first Canadian shot-on-Super 8 gore flick to be commercially released on VHS back in 1989. Now it’s coming to DVD.

The flick will be releaesd on July 12 by Intervision Picture Corp. The cover art can be seen below. The disc will include over four hours of bonus features, including the following:

– Audio Commentary with Andrew Jordan, Barry J. Gillis, Jan W. Pachul and Doug Bunston
– Audio Viewing Party with the Cinefamily
– Testimonials On THINGS: Interviews with Tobe Hooper, Jason Eisener and Rob Cotterill, Paul Corupe, Joseph A. Ziemba and Dan Budnik and more
– THINGS 20th Anniversary Cast and Crew Reunion
– Behind The Scenes with Amber Lynn
– Vintage Barry J. Gillis TV Appearances
– Original Trailers

THINGS is directed by Andrew Jordan, who co-wrote the script with Barry J. Gillis. Gillis stars alongside Amber Lynn, Bruce Roach, Doug Bunston, Jan W. Pachul and Patricia Sadler. The movie has gained a cult following due to its inexplicably odd and gory nature.
