Fans of Call of Duty: Warzone, a free-to-play battle royale video game that’s available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows, have been suspecting that some kind of Godzilla vs. Kong crossover was on the way, and now it has been confirmed! Godzilla and Kong are coming to Call of Duty: Warzone with the Operation Monarch update, and the battle will begin on May 11th. A trailer for Operation Monarch has been released online, and you can check it out at the bottom of this article.
Directed by Adam Wingard from a screenplay by Eric Pearson and Max Borenstein (with Terry Rossio, Michael Dougherty, and Zach Shields earning story credit), the Godzilla vs. Kong film was released last year and has the following synopsis:
In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.
Godzilla vs. Kong stars Alexander Skarsgard, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Eiza Gonzalez, Kaylee Hottle, Julian Dennison, Demian Bichir, Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, Lance Reddick, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, and Shun Oguri.
I have never played Call of Duty: Warzone, but this Operation Monarch update may be the thing that finally makes me give the game a try. I’m very curious to see what the gameplay is going to be like with Godzilla and Kong going around and smashing into each other.
