Sierra McCormick of American Horror Stories and Cobra Kai‘s Gianni DeCenzo are among the cast members who have signed on to star in the supernatural thriller Burnouts, which is expected to start filming in the Atlanta area this summer. Also on board are Jade Pettyjohn (Big Sky), Brenna D’Amico (Descendants), Bentley Green (61st Street), Summer Parker (Saints & Sinners), and Connor Hammond (The Summer I Turned Pretty).
Tim Donner will be directing Burnouts from his own screenplay. According to Deadline, the story centers on
a group of grieving teens, hot off of quarantine, who head off for a much needed retreat to reconnect and mend their wounds. A séance subsequently leads to a evening where anything can and does happen.
They keep making horror movies about it, and yet it seems like the kids are never going to learn. They just keep on having séances and unleashing evil forces.
Donner has made multiple short films over the last ten years, and Burnouts will mark his feature debut. The film is being produced by Kevin G. Lee and Kendrick Foxx of TLK Filmworks.
That’s all we have to go on when it comes to Burnouts at this time, but I was already sold on the project as soon as I saw that Gianni DeCenzo is in the cast. I’m a big fan of the Cobra Kai series, and I’m totally on board to watch “Demetri” battle a supernatural threat. I’m not familiar with the other cast members, aside from McCormick, who I saw on the first two episodes of American Horror Stories… before I drifted away from that show. For now.
