Bullet Train: Lady Gaga boards David Leitch’s assassin thriller

David Leitch's (HOBBS & SHAW) upcoming assassin thriller BULLET TRAIN has been assembling one hell of an ensemble cast, and today's casting news comes to us from Collider. The outlet has reported that Lady Gaga (A STAR IS BORN) has signed on the join the cast of BULLET TRAIN, joining Brad Pitt (ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD), Joey King (THE KISSING BOOTH), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (THE KING'S MAN), Brian Tyree Henry (ETERNALS), Andrew Koji (Warrior), Zazie Beetz (JOKER), Masi Oka (Heroes), and Michael Shannon (KNIVES OUT).

Based on the popular manga Maria Beetle by Kotaro Isaka, BULLET TRAIN is expected to follow several "assassins who find themselves on a fast-moving bullet train from Tokyo to Morioka with only a few stops in between. Strangely, they discover their missions are not unrelated to each other." As with most of the casting news surrounding BULLET TRAIN, it's not known who Lady Gaga will be playing at this time, but Collider says that the role is a smaller supporting one rather than a lead. In addition to directing, David Leitch is also slated to supervise the script which is being penned by Zak Olkewicz (FEAR STREET).

Lady Gaga's last major big-screen role was two years ago when she starred alongside Bradley Cooper in A STAR IS BORN. The project earned Gaga an Academy Award for Best Original Song as well as a nomination for Best Actress. In addition to BULLET TRAIN, Gaga is also attached to star in Ridley Scott's GUCCI as Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, who was "tried and convicted of orchestrating her ex-husband's assassination on the steps of his office in 1995." Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Jack Huston, and Reeve Carney have also been in talks to join the cast of GUCCI alongside Gaga.
