BTS photo from Halloween reveals a look at the unmasked Michael Myers

There's a tradition of unmasking killers in horror movies, but it's one which the HALLOWEEN franchise has avoided for the most part. The recent HALLOWEEN sequel from David Gordon Green certainly flirted with showing Michael Myers' face, but we never got a full look at Myers' grizzled mug until now. A behind-the-scenes photo has emerged which gives us the best look yet at Michael Myers as played by James Jude Courtney, complete with the gruesome eye wound he sustained from Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) in the first movie. While it's nice to get a look at Michael Myers, I'm glad that they never showed off quite this much in the final movie. Given that HALLOWEEN has grossed over $230 million worldwide, it's only inevitable that Michael Myers might show his face once again in a sequel. There's nothing official at the moment, but HALLOWEEN co-writer Danny McBride has said that they already have a few ideas of where to go next.

We definitely have ideas of what we would do. I think we did not allow ourselves to really indulge those ideas until the movie came out. We just wanted to put all our hopes and dreams in having this film stick the landing. But we do have thoughts and ideas of what we could possibly do. We hadn’t invested a ton of time on them, but now we’re being asked to figure it out. There are definitely talks on whether we will do more of them and we’re just trying to see what best makes sense.

Earlier in the year Danny McBride said that David Gordan Green and himself had so many ideas for the film that they came close to pitching not one, but two HALLOWEEN films. "We were going to shoot two of them back-to-back. Then we were like, Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves. This could come out, and everyone could hate us, and we'd never work again. So, let's not have to sit around for a year while we wait for another movie to come out that we know people aren't going to like," McBride said. "So, we were like, Let's learn from this, and see what works, and what doesn't. But we definitely have an idea of where we would go [with] this branch of the story and hopefully we get a chance to do it."
