Journal de Montreal (via CJAD) is reporting filming for X-MEN: APOCALYPSE will begin in Montreal in April of next year, which is also when CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 will start production. According to the site, the production office for the film will open next month, and set construction will start in December at Mel’s Cité du Cinema, the same studio that was used for X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.
X-MEN: APOCALYPSE will be set in the 1980s, and although a few members from the original cast will be back, the film "will focus primarily on the First Class cast." There's also a chance Channing Tatum's Gambit might appear in the movie as well.
Although X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST wasn't as big of a hit at the box office as Marvel's THE AVENGERS like some thought it would be, it did receive fantastic reviews from most critics and fans, and many have extremely high expectations for the sequel. The biggest question I have about the film is who will be playing Apocalypse? Since production on it won't start for another seven months, you better get ready for lots of rumors about who might be playing the villain in the Bryan Singer movie.
X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is scheduled to hit theaters on May 27, 2016.
