Bryan Mills goes to Hollywood in the international poster for Tak3n

I was a little concerned yesterday when I learned the new title for TAKEN 3 was going to be TAK3N. I may have gone a bit overboard with the hyperbole in how bad I felt the title was, but quite a few of you were with me in thinking it just sounded stupid. Titles are important and from my perspective when you do something gimmicky like change a letter to a number it stinks of desperation.

I had finally calmed down and was enjoying a cup of coffee when the international poster for TAK3N appeared in my inbox. I literally lost my shit. This is an awful poster for an awfully titled movie which, by process of deduction, likely means the movie is going to be awful. I truly hope I am wrong since I really like Liam Neeson plus the addition of Forest Whitaker to the story.

But, from what I can gather, it looks like the Bryan Mills character is going to Hollywood. This could be a marketing idea to try and sell the American film abroad, but the European setting is what gave the first two movies some of it's edge. Relocating to Hollywood just sounds lame. Plus, making a letter of the Hollywood sign a 3 that also happens to be backwards is just poor design. I have a bad feeling about this.

TAK3N opens January 9, 2015.
