Everyone’s favorite meth peddlers could be back soon, or at least that’s what the internet seems to be freaking out about after BREAKING BAD stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul possibly, cryptically teased a reunion. The duo took to social media yesterday to send us all for a loop by posting the same photo at the exact same time of two mules in what could easily be the New Mexico plains, leading everyone to think their popular characters will be back for more. However, it’s also just as likely they could have also just been taking this opportunity to be a couple of playful asses.

Cranston and Paul posted their photos at the exact same time yesterday, and with the same caption, “Soon,” which only further led to speculation. You can see the photos for yourself below.
Now, the biggest takeaway from this stems from the news around AMC’s plan for a BREAKING BAD movie, centered on Jesse Pinkman (Paul) after he escapes at the end of the series finale. The synopsis reveals that audiences “will follow the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom,” which means Paul is practically a given to return. Now, the problem with Cranston’s Walter White is that he died at the end of the series, so it’s not likely they will be teaming to start a new business around, I don’t know, vape pens. However, many posit he could show up in flashbacks, or even in hallucinations, given how much of an impact White had on the guy.

A new possibility arose when BETTER CALL SAUL showrunner Peter Gould tweeted his reaction to Paul’s photo, writing “Looking forward to this.” Now people are thinking the pair could be showing up in the fifth season of the hit spinoff show around lawyer Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), which has chronicled his early days as a lawyer and up to where we see him come the main series.
Again, it’s also likely that Cranston and Paul simply found this dramatic picture of these two mules and decided to have some fun, which is something I would totally do if I was them and would earn the two massive props. Hell, maybe they're just about to make dinner plans and decided to use a super theatrical way to let us all know. But we also know AMC isn’t quite done with them yet, whether it be on BETTER CALL SAUL or in the BREAKING BAD movie, and we all know that in this world of pop culture what is dead may never die, and despite his ending, White left a mark on certain people that may not be easy to shake.
