It's been a long time since we last heard any word on THE STRANGERS director Bryan Bertino's found footage-style thriller MOCKINGBIRD, with our last update coming way back in February. Now we've learned that the film will be quietly debuting on Digital HD next week on October 7, followed by a DVD release exclusively at Wal-Mart on October 21 from Universal and the Blumhouse Tilt banner. No fanfare. No promotion. And where the hell is the trailer for this one? This just seems odd to me.
MOCKINGBIRD has been described as a…
…found footage thriller centering on three cameras that are given to three separate households on the same night with instructions to keep filming if they want to live, but as the night wears on, the characters are pulled into a deadly confrontation with each other at the behest of their unseen tormentor.
Todd Stashwick, Audrey Marie Anderson, and Alexa Lydon star.
This doesn't feel like a very confident release for Blumhouse Tilt. It's almost as if they're just trying to finally get it off the shelf. I hope this isn't an indication of how good (or bad) the film is. I'm actually curious about this one.
Check out the poster art for MOCKINGBIRD below and look for it on Digital HD next week and in Wal-Mart on October 21.
