BAD LIEUTENANT: PORT OF CALL NEW ORLEANS and ESCAPE PLAN 2: HADES and ESCAPE PLAN: THE EXTRACTORS producer Randall Emmett's directorial debut MIDNIGHT IN THE SWITCHGRASS begins shooting next month in Puerto Rico.
And today we learned that the flick has scored a killer cast in the form of Bruce Willis (PULP FICTION, DIE HARD), Megan Fox (JENNIFER'S BODY, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES), and Emile Hirsch (THE AUTOPSY OF JANE DOE, ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD).
Set way the hell back in 2004 (heaven help us), MIDNIGHT IN THE SWITCHGRASS will follow
an FBI agent (Fox) and a Florida State officer (Hirsch) who team up to investigate a string of unsolved murder cases.
Willis will play Fox’s FBI agent partner … and, you know, probably the killer.
The $15M-budgeted thriller is being financed by EFO Films. Tim Sullivan, Luillo Ruiz, and Alex Eckert are producing with Lydia Hull serving as executive producer. Highland Film Group will be selling it at the upcoming EFM. It begins shooting in Puerto Rico on March 9, 2020.
I know that this cast would have been much better, let's say, ten years ago (or fifteen) but still. I'm loving the Florida-set serial killer plot here and the cast really just ties it all together. Will you be checking out MIDNIGHT IN THE SWITCHGRASS when it eventually hits? Let us know below!
