Two new character posters for THOR: THE DARK WORLD have fallen from the realm of Asgard, featuring the God of Thunder himself and his conniving brother, Loki. Both characters are making their third appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the sequel, a journey which began in 2011's THOR and continued in last summer's THE AVENGERS. Although we'll likely see Chris Hemsworth return as the hammer-wielding God in THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, this may be the last we'll see of Tom Hiddleston's Loki for a good while (but never say never). Let's hope he goes out with style in this one, as he's certainly made a memorable impression in this cinematic franchise.
Bring the Thunder!:
The closer we get to this, the more excited I feel. THOR is not my favorite of the Marvel characters on film, but that doesn't mean I'm not stoked to see him in another adventure. Far from it. I'm more excited to see director Alan Taylor's vision of the character and setting, as well as a much more "otherworldly" tale. The less time on Earth, the better, and so far the odds look stacked in the favor of the Nine Realms.
THOR: THE DARK WORLD, starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Christopher Eccleston, Rene Russo, Idris Elba, Ray Stevenson, Jaimie Alexander, Zachary Levi, Kat Dennings, and Chris O'Dowd crashes to Midgard on November 8, 2013.
