Stuart Gordon’s 1985 H.P. Lovecraft adaptation Re-Animator is rightfully known one of the best horror movies ever made. And in the latest episode of our video series The Best Horror Movie You Never Saw, we shine a spotlight on its lesser known sequel Bride of Re-Animator (get it HERE), a worthy follow-up that was directed by Re-Animator producer Brian Yuzna. To find out what we had to say about Bride of Re-Animator, check out the video embedded above!
Scripted by Yuzna’s Society collaborators Woody Keith and Rick Fry, Bride of Re-Animator has the following synopsis:
The mad Dr. Herbert West, the tormented Dr. Dan Cain, and the beheaded Dr. Carl Hill return in this terrifying sequel to Re-Animator. It’s been eight months since the Miskatonic Massacre stained the halls with blood – and Dr. West and Dr. Cain’s experiments have taken a bizarre turn. Now they have gone beyond re-animating the dead… into the realm of creating new life. The legs of a hooker and the womb of a virgin are joined to the heart of Dr. Cain’s dead girlfriend – and the bride is unleashed upon her mate in a climax of sensual horror.
The film stars Jeffrey Combs, Bruce Abbott, David Gale, Claude Earl Jones, Fabiana Udenio, Mel Stewart, and Kathleen Kinmont.
