DEADPOOL 2 seems to be coming together nicely, with a director firmly in place, Domino (Zazie Beetz) finally being cast, and a teaser busting the internet, in the process continuing the character’s reign on the “trending” cycle. But there is still so much to know about the upcoming flick, with a lot of the mystery surrounding the roles of returning characters, like the punkish, angst-driven Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand)
While promoting her new movie TRAGEDY GIRLS at SXSW, the 20-year-old actress was able to speak a bit about her character to Screen Rant, and though she couldn’t reveal a lot she does think the character will be even cooler this time around:
I’ve not yet actually read the script. But I do think she will be a lot cooler, based on the wardrobe ideas and stuff. I’m very excited. Just some ideas, nothing that’s concrete or anything [On the concept art she’s seen]. But I think it’s cool that she’s grown and matured and she still has so much of this essence of a punk kid.
Clearly even she doesn’t know the exact specifics of everything, but she was confirmed to return along with Colossus not too long, much to the excitement of fans. Maintaining a steadfast, stubborn and stoic sense of rebellion against Deadpool’s (Ryan Reynolds) ridiculousness couldn’t have been easy for Hildebrand, but she nailed it and was able to hold her own next to the illustrious, red asshole.
Besides looking cool as hell and saving her friend’s asses a few times Negasonic didn’t have much to do in DEADPOOL – but that’s understandable. However, given the character’s popularity coming out of the movies success she will probably have a much bigger role this time around. The character is cool, Hildebrand rocks, so the more we see of her the better. That’s all I have to say about that.
