Brian K. Vaughan tapped to adapt Stephen King’s Under the Dome for Showtime

This past Summer we were treated to the excellent news that Stephen King’s UNDER THE DOME was being set-up as a series over at Showtime. Personally I’m wicked excited about this project, having thoroughly enjoyed UNDER THE DOME. And to see it on a channel like Showtime? Hell yeah!

The minds behind this project (Steven Spielberg, Stacey Snider and Stephen King) were hard at work looking for a writer to tackle this tricky adaptation the last we heard. Well if Deadline Hollywood is to be belived it seems they’ve found their man!

Apparently comic book writer Brian K. Vaughan scored the task of adapting UNDER THE DOME for Showtime. Alright then… Brian K. Vaughan. Works for me! I’m just glad to see this project inching closer and closer to a start date!

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester’s Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener’s hand is severed as “the dome” comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when—or if—it will go away.

As soon as any other updates regarding Showtime’s UNDER THE DOME come our way you can bet we’ll be right here to tell you about them!
