Brenton Thwaites to join Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

It was a busy year for Brenton Thwaites having had roles is MALEFICENT, OCULUS, and THE GIVER; the up and coming star is now looking to take on the sought after role of Henry in the upcoming sequel PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES. Not much is known about the role other than the character is said to be a British Soldier. He will join returning cast members Johnny Depp who will forever be playing Captain Jack Sparrow, Geoffrey Rush as Captain Barbossa, and there have been unconfirmed rumors suggesting we may see the return of Orlando Bloom’s William Turner as well.

We also reported that Javier Bardem is also said to be in talks to take on the film’s villain, Captain Brand, a ghost hellbent on getting revenge against Sparrow for the death of his brother. As one of the most popular franchises of all time tries to stay afloat with another sequel, I think most of us would agree that they need some fresh faces. I would suggest we don’t have Jack Sparrow in every scene and go back to what worked before with him as more of a supporting character.

At the end of the day though, all I ask is that we get Keira Knightley back in these movies.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES opens in theaters on July 7, 2017.
