Brainstorm Media has picked up the North American distribution rights to writer/director Alistair Banks Griffin's psychological thriller THE WOLF HOUR, which stars Naomi Watts and is set in New York during the summer of 1977 – a time when the "Son of Sam" serial killer was stalking the streets and the city descended into chaos during a long blackout.
Brainstorm is planning to give the film a theatrical release sometime in fall 2019.
Watts plays a
formerly celebrated counter-culture figure who now lives alone in her fifth floor South Bronx apartment, having all but cut herself off from the outside world during the 1977 “Summer of Sam.” As she retreats further into isolation, an unseen tormentor begins exploiting her weaknesses and her carefully guarded universe begins to unravel.
Her co-stars include Jennifer Ehle, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Emory Cohen, Jeremy Bobb, and Brennan Brown.
The combination of having Watts in the lead and being set during the "Summer of Sam" has earned THE WOLF HOUR a place on my must-see list.
Brainstorm hasn't announced a specific release date for the film yet, but we'll let you know when they do.
