Bradley Whitford joins the cast of Godzilla: King of the Monsters

Michael Dougherty's upcoming GODZILLA sequel will hopefully feature plenty of giant creatures for Godzilla to face off against, but the cast of GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS seems to be growing equally large. Just yesterday we heard that Silicon Valley's Thomas Middleditch had signed on, and now it seems that Bradley Whitford is up for some monster mayhem as well.

Bradley Whitford, most recently seen in Jordan Peele's excellent GET OUT, has now joined the cast of GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS. As with most of the casting news surrounding this sequel, who Whitford will be playing has yet to be revealed. Bradley Whitford will be joining Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Kyle Chandler (Bloodlines), Vera Farmiga (Bates Motel), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON), Anthony Ramos (Hamilton), Randy Havens (Stranger Things) and Aisha Hinds (Underground), and it's said that Sally Hawkins and Ken Watanabe will be reprising their roles from Gareth Edwards' GODZILLA for the sequel as well. Let's keep our fingers crossed that Bradley Whitford won't be wasted like Bryan Cranston was in the first film.

Earlier this week Adam Wingard (THE GUEST) closed a deal to direct GODZILLA VS. KONG, which will see the the two famous giant monsters face off on May 22, 2020. As for GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS, that film is set for a March 22, 2019 release.
