Brad Pitt’s character is trying to teach his sons how to defend themselves. He asks each of them to take a swing at him, but both hesitate. Would you hit your Dad? Tyler Durden said he would gladly take his Dad in a fight. But Pitt’s character isn’t Durden. He’s just a Father trying to teach his sons how to make it in the world.
