Forget the reportedly troubled production, the rewrites, the budget issues and every other bit of negative news and rumors you've heard about WORLD WAR Z. The fact is, the movie was a hit at the box office and scored highly with audiences and (most) critics alike, so it's unsurprising that talks of a sequel have been stirring for quite some time. Even before the release of the film star Brad Pitt had been hinting that the first flick could pave the way for a trilogy, and Max Brooks' novel on which the film was based certainly has enough source material to cover several more films.
Over the weekened Variety caught up with Brad Pitt at the Toronto International Film Festival and asked him if a sequel was in the works, to which he responded…
"We're certainly talking about it, yeah. We have so many ideas on the table from just the time we spent developing this thing and figuring out how zombie worlds work. We have so many ideas and so much information, we think we have a lot of stuff to mine from. We're going to do our best and see what we get out of it."
