ANTHROPOID writer-director Sean Ellis' period horror flick EIGHT FOR SILVER is slated to begin filming this month in France and today we have word that the movie has snagged it leads with Boyd Holbrook and Kelly Reilly. Holbrook is best known for his roles in recent action hits such as LOGAN starring Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stweart and THE PREDATOR directed by Shane Black and co-written by Fred Dekker.
Meanwhile, Reilly is perhaps best known for her roles in films such as James Watkins's EDEN LAKE co-starring Michael Fassbender, and Guy Richie's SHERLOCK HOMES movies co-starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. Set in the countryside of France, the 19th-century horror pic follows
John McBride (Holbrook), a pathologist assigned to determine if the body of a 14-year-old boy found in the woods is the work of a man or a beast. McBride is then welcomed as a guest into the family home of a local wealthy landowner, Seamus Laurent (Petrie), and his wife Isabelle (Reilly), who share that their own son, a friend of the victim, has been missing for two weeks. Distraught and determined to keep her daughter safe, Isabelle finds comfort in the arrival of John while he is forced to confront the horrors of his own dark past.
The film is also set to star Alistair Petrie who is best known for his roles in films such as Gareth Edwards' ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY, Roger Donaldson's THE BANK JOB starring Jason Statham, and Paul McGuigan's VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN starring Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy. Mickey Liddell and Pete Shilaimon – who were behind the documentary THE DEVIL AND FATHER AMORTH and the upcoming remake of JACOB'S LADDER – are producing the project on behalf of LD.
