Boy Kills World movie casts Bill Skarsgard, Samara Weaving, and Yayan Ruhian

Who’s ready to enter a dystopian fever dream with Bill Skarsgard (Hemlock Grove, Castle Rock) Samara Weaving (The Babysitter, Guns Akimbo), and Yayan Ruhian (Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, The Raid: Redemption)? I hope you said yes because the trio is preparing to star in Boy Kills World, an action movie with one hell of an outrageous plot.

The Boy Kills World movie centers around Boy (Skarsgard), a deaf-mute with a vibrant imagination. When his family is murdered, Boy escapes to the jungle and is trained by a mysterious shaman to repress his childish imagination and become an instrument of death. Weaving will play an assassin named June 27, and the lightning-quick badass, Ruhian, will star as Boy’s mentor.

German filmmaker Mortiz Mohr will make his feature-directing debut on the project. Mohr has helmed several short films, including Akumi, which has won awards in Germany. To encourage people to look at Boy Kills World, Mohr arranged intricate previsualization of the film’s cinematic promise. In the end, he must have done something downright impressive because it caught the attention of Sam Raimi, who will now produce the feature through his banner Raimi Productions alongside Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment.

Arend Remmers (Sløborn) and Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury: The Movie) are penning the screenplay, with Nancy Nayor in charge of casting.

“I am thrilled to be partnering up again with Roy Lee on Moritz Mohr’s Boy Kills World. Moritz has a brilliant sense of action, humor, and world-building that I just cannot wait for the world to see. We are excited to be collaborating with Nthibah and Hammerstone to bring Moritz’s unique film to life,” said Raimi.

Boy Kills World is set in a distinct dystopian world, combining real-world themes with a stylized look that is fresh, cool, and original, borrowing from the best of graphic novels. With a script that combines wild innovative action sequences, a sense of humor, and a lot of crazy, this film has the potential to be a worldwide hit and potential franchise property,” added Simon Swart, CEO of Nthibah Pictures.

Wow! This Boy Kills World movie sounds like it’s off to an amazing start. I dig the concept, and the trifecta of Skarsgard, Weaving, and Ruhian has me all kinds of excited. I’ll be keeping a close eye on this one as the film prepares to shoot in South Africa real soon.
