THE RAID 2 had its debut just last night at the Sundance Film Festival and nothing but positive words have been flooding in since. I think it's safe to say that Gareth Evans' follow up to his 2011 hit, THE RAID: REDEMPTION, is a bigger, nastier beast with unrelenting action. You can read Chris Bumbray's positive review of the flick right HERE where he says, "The sheer amount of bloodletting makes Paul Verhoven's early actioners look tame by comparison." Now that's the kind of shit we like to hear around these parts! Dig on the new trailer below!
THE RAID 2 was once again written and directed by Evans and picks up right where the first film left off. Here's what it's about:
Immediately following the events of the original, The Raid 2 tracks Officer Rama as he is pressured to join an anti-corruption task force to guarantee protection for his wife and child. His mission is to get close to a new mob boss, Bangun, by befriending his incarcerated son, Uco. Rama must hunt for information linking Bangun with corruption in the Jakarta Police Department while pursuing a dangerous and personal vendetta that threatens to consume him and bring his mission-and the organized crime syndicate-down around him.
The film reunites writer/director Gareth Huw Evans with actor Iko Uwais, who will be reprising his starring role. Tio Pakusadewo, Putra Arifin Scheunamann, Julie Estelle, Alex Abbad, Roy Marten, Matsuda Ryuhei, Endo Kenichi, Kitamura Kazukiall all star.
