In April we brought you word that Sony had hired Broad Street scribes Lucia Aniello and Paul W. Downs for its female-led 21 JUMP STREET spinoff, however they won't be the only ones working on a script for the project. THR has learned Bob's Burger writers and producers Lizzie and Wendy Molyneux have also been tapped to pen a separate script for the spinoff. The sisters also wrote DreamWork Animations' HOT STUFF, and their MY SISTER IS MARRYING A DOUCHEBAG script appeared on the 2009 Black List.
Sony will probably take a look at both scripts and then decided which one they want to go with. The studio also has a 21 JUMP STREET/MEN IN BLACK crossover film in the works, and two GHOSTBUSTERS flicks; the all female team reboot from SPY director Paul Feig, and the all male reboot, which is being developed by Channing Tatum and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER directors Anthony and Joe Russo.
I'm a massive Bob's Burger fan, so I'm very happy with Sony's hiring, although I'm still not sold on the project itself. Which 21 JUMP STREET spinoff script do you think Sony will pick for the planned film: the one from Lucia Aniello and Paul W. Downs or The Molyneux's?
