Bob Odenkirk may strike you as an unlikely action star, but he more than proved his mettle with Nobody. The action thriller found Odenkirk starring as Hutch Mansell, “an unassuming family man who cowers and folds during a home invasion. His post-traumatic shame disorder reignites a long-cooled fire within, and he summons a secret lethal skill set for a revenge mission, only to see it backfire spectacularly and put his family in greater jeopardy.” Now that Bob Odenkirk is fully recovered from his heart attack, he says that he’s ready for Nobody 2.
“Let’s make Nobody 2,” Bob Odenkirk told Empire, “and I’m going to kick more ass than I ever have.” The actor confirmed that there has “absolutely” been talk of a sequel and that they’re “working on making that happen.“
Universal has been very upbeat and welcoming. Derek [Kolstad, screenwriter] and I have talked story. It’s not a sure thing yet, but we’re working on it. I think the signs point to yes.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about a Nobody sequel as director Ilya Naishuller told us last year that one was being considered. When our own Chris Bumbray suggested that Connie Nielsen, who played Odenkirk’s wife, should get in on the action this time around, Naishuller said, “Well, I like the way you’re thinking Chris because you’re right on the MONEY!“
Bob Odenkirk recently finished shooting the last episodes of the sixth and final season of Better Call Saul, which will launch on April 16th. Production on the final season was delayed after Bob Odenkirk suffered a heart attack on the set, but he says that he was “very, very lucky in that I had a heart attack near my co-stars. I didn’t go to my trailer, and also we weren’t on location. If we’d been on location, I probably wouldn’t be here talking to you. If I’d gone to my trailer, I wouldn’t be here talking to you right now.” Would you be down for Nobody 2?
