For those of you, like me, that somehow went and missed Blumhouse and Leigh Whannell's sci-fi horror-action flick UPGRADE in theaters, no worries, as today we have word on just when we will be able to view all the sci-fi action/horror carnage from the comfort of our living rooms.
It looks like Universal will be releasing the film, which stars Logan Marshall-Green, Rosco Campbell, Richard Cawthorne, and Betty Gabriel onto Digital platforms come August 14th. And then the movie will be hitting Blu-ray and DVD on August 28th.
The unfortunate news is that there are currently no special features listed as part of this upcoming Blu-ray release. But who knows, maybe the powers that be will slap a few quality bits of behind-the-scenes goodies our way before the disc actually hits next month. We'll see…
The film which follows Green's character who:
After his wife is killed during a brutal mugging that also leaves him paralyzed, is approached by a billionaire inventor with an experimental cure that will “upgrade” his body. The cure – an Artificial Intelligence implant called STEM – gives Grey physical abilities beyond anything experienced and the ability to relentlessly claim vengeance against those who murdered his wife and left him for dead.
Once again, the Blumhouse sci-fi horror action film will be hitting Digital August 14th before hitting Blu-ray and DVD via Universal on August 28th.
