Deadline reports that Blumhouse is developing a sci-fi horror-thriller called M3GAN, based on an idea by James Wan (THE CONJURING, AQUAMAN). It will also star and be executive produced by GET OUT's Allison Williams. Here's the official synopsis:
In the film, Williams plays Gemma, a brilliant roboticist at a toy company. She uses artificial intelligence to develop M3GAN, a life-like doll programmed to be a kid’s greatest companion and a parent’s greatest ally. After unexpectedly gaining custody of her orphaned niece, Gemma enlists the help of the M3GAN prototype – a decision that has unimaginable consequences.
Meanwhile, M3GAN will be directed by Gerard Johnstone (HOUSEBOUND) and written by Akela Cooper (MALIGNANT). No other details at this time, but we'll keep you posted!
