Blumhouse and Amazon team for Faustian tale Nocturne

Blumhouse may be the biggest name in horror right now, and the next step in their endeavor to bring a constant stream of horror content into the world is a deal with Amazon Studios. Blumhouse has an eight film streaming deal with Amazon, and the first feature to come out of that set-up is a Faustian tale called NOCTURNE.

NOCTURNE will tell the story of

an incredibly gifted pianist who makes a Faustian bargain to overtake her older sister at a prestigious institution for classical musicians.

Not only is this the first feature to come out of the Blumhouse / Amazon collaboration, it also marks the feature debut of writer/director Zu Quirke, who has a few years of short film credits to her name.

Sydney Sweeney of ALONG CAME THE DEVIL (pictured above) and Madison Iseman of ANNABELLE COMES HOME are set to star, presumably as the sisters mentioned in the plot synopsis.

They're joined in the cast by Ivan Shaw, who could recently be seen on the USA series Pearson, and Jacques Colimon, who has a prominent role in the next installment of the Blumhouse / Hulu series Into the Dark, UNCANNY ANNIE.

Blumhouse founder Jason Blum is producing NOCTURNE with Lisa Bruce, Marci Wiseman, and Jeremy Gold. Matthew Myers and Fodhla Cronin O'Reilly serve as executive producers.

The plan is that all eight of these Blumhouse / Amazon films will have "underrepresented filmmakers" at the helm.

We'll keep you updated on NOCTURNE as the project moves forward.
