Teens and screams galore! Something about this project says “Hey, put down the forty foot pole and get a closer look.”
After weeks of building up the internet buzz, THROWING STONES is slowly starting to become something worth keeping an eye on.The official synopsis reveal: A group of high school students are forced to come together and overcome their differences in order to survive Saturday School when one by one the students end up missing. Plot details also include a serial killer among them and spending an entire day with zipties. Groovy! In other words if Eli Roth had his way with The Breakfast Club we might’ve gotten something like this. The first image below is a new photo from the upcoming fall web series THROWING STONES. More stills from the series’ production can be seen further down the page.
What seemed like an ordinary concept at first is now beginning to look more and more like five episodes of a good time. The series is based on a feature length script of the same name written by Directors Bart Van Bemmel and Jason Wheeler. They are joined by an interesting cast with Lindsay Seidal (The Final), Cherami Leigh (The Mist, Temple Grandin, Fast Food Nation), and Rebekah Kennedy (Blood is blood).
Director Bart Van Bemmel had this to say regarding the web series’ current status:“So far Team Stones has been fortunate that several horror media outlets have wanted to cover our web series. This has been a tremendous force in getting the word out. We’ve also been asked to participate in the upcoming BloodaPalooza Horror Con at Dallas Market Hall on October 8-10th where members of the cast and crew will be on hand help spread the word by signing autographs, giving away nice swag, and debuting our official trailer for the web series. As far as post-production goes – we’re full steam ahead in the editing process. Episode one is almost complete.”
So there you have it. If you’re around the North Texas region and you’d like to snag yourself some early footage of the deal then swing over to BloodaPalooza and check that sucker out. Current plans also include designing a site filled with web diaries that will give a little more insight into the characters. Look forward to the show’s premiere sometime later in Fall 2010.
