Back in June, we brought you word that Arnold Schwarzenegger is attached to star in a revenge drama titled 478, and now Deadline has learned that Elliott Lester has been tapped to direct. The BLITZ and NIGHTINGALE director will be helming from a script by ENEMY scribe Javier Gullon, and production is expected to begin mid-December in Ohio. Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films will finance the project, as well as produce with Protozoa Pictures.
478 will follow a man (Schwarzenegger) whose wife and child die in a plane crash, which was caused by an air traffic controller’s screw-up. The air traffic controller is vilified for his mistake and placed into protective custody, however Schwarzenegger’s character cannot let it go, and is determined to seek vengeance. The movie has been described as a "subtle character piece akin to MAGGIE" that is "more sophisticated than an average revenge film."
I know some people were disappointed with MAGGIE, but I thought Schwarzenegger did just fine in the zombie drama, and although 478 does sound a bit like COLLATERAL DAMAGE, I'm still interested in checking it out.
