Letitia Wright hospitalized black panther

Even with all the various safety protocols in place, injuries do happen on film sets, and Deadline has reported that Letitia Wright has been hospitalized after a stunt rig incident on the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Thankfully, it seems that the injuries Wright received were minor and that she’s expected to be released soon.

Letitia Wright sustained minor injuries today while filming a stunt for ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.’ She is currently receiving care in a local hospital and is expected to be released soon,” a spokesperson for Marvel said in a statement. Here’s hoping that Letitia Wright has a speedy recovery. Shooting on the film isn’t expected to be impacted by the incident. Letitia Wright will once again be playing Shuri, the genius inventor and younger sister of Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa. She also appeared in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Production on the Black Panther sequel kicked off earlier this summer and in addition to Wright, much of the original cast is expected to return, including Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Martin Freeman, and Florence Kasumba. New additions include Michaela Coel (I May Destroy You) as well as Dominique Thorne, who will be making her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Riri Williams ahead of the Ironheart series for Disney+.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit theaters on July 8, 2022.
