As production has (finally) begun on Black Adam, Deadline has reported another new addition to the cast as Uli Latukefu has signed on to join the Dwayne Johnson superhero film. Laktukefu currently stars in NBC's Young Rock as the college football-era Dwayne Johnson, and was hand-picked for the role by Johnson himself.

Uli Latukefu's character in Black Adam is being kept under wraps, but given the role he plays in Young Rock, it's not hard to imagine that he might be playing a younger version of Dwayne Johnson's character once again. Dwayne Johnson will of course be starring as Black Adam, but the film will also serve as an introduction to the Justice Society as Noah Centineo is onboard to play Atom Smasher, with Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate. Black Adam is also slated to star Sarah Shahi as "a university professor and freedom fighter leading the resistance in Kahndaq," as well as Marwan Kenzari in a mysterious role expected to be the main villain. Mohammed Amer, James Cusati-Moyer, and Bodhi Sabongui round out the rest of the cast.

In addition to Young Rock, Uli Latukefu has also been seen in Marco Polo and Alien: Covenant, and will next be seen in Taika Waititi's Next Goal Wins alongside Michael Fassbender and Elisabeth Moss. The sports comedy follows Dutch coach Thomas Rongen (Fassbender) as he's tasked with turning the American Samoa national football team, considered to be one of the weakest in the world, into an elite squad. The season finale of the first season of Young Rock is slated to debut on May 4th.
