Quick! Somebody drop me off the top of a very tall building so Aldis Hodge's Hawkman can catch me in his chiseled arms.
Production for DC's Black Adam is scheduled to begin this month, and Aldis Hodge has been putting in work for the part of Carter Hall/Hawkman. I'm talking about some serious work. Look at that physique. Given the right weather conditions, you could fry some eggs on that tightly woven breadbasket.
Obviously, Hodge recently posted a photo of himself on Instagram, which showcases all the hard work he's put in to play DC's legendary mace-wielding birdman.
"Making progress every day. Almost where I need to be. The adjustments to eating, sleeping, and training aren’t always easy. And my body is fighting pain and soreness every day, but I’m loving it! I can’t meet my full potential until I step outside of my comfort zone. So imma keep on steppin," said Hodge in his post.
Black Adam stars Dwayne Johnson in the titular role. Joining him for the long-gestating superhero spectacle is Sarah Shahi as Isis, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate, and Marwan Kenzari in an undisclosed role.
The film has yet to receive an official synopsis, though we do know that it will serve as a prequel to Shazam! Johnson recently announced that Black Adam will arrive in theaters on July 29, 2022. He also had this to say about the black-suited anti-hero: "Five thousand years ago, Kahndaq, was a melting pot of cultures, wealth, power, and magic. Yet, most of us have nothing, except for the chains around our necks. Kahndaq needed a hero, instead, they got me. I did what needed to be done and they imprisoned me for it. Now, five thousand years later, I'm free and I give you my word… No one will ever stop me again."
Oh shit! Clearly, Kahndaq failed to smell what Black Adam was cooking, and now they'll have to pay the price. Those fools.
