We've said it before but it bears repeating: we live in an era of great horror television! Over the past couple of years there have been some truly great shows hitting the airwaves including "American Horror Story", "The Walking Dead", "Bates Motel", "Hannibal" and the newest hit, Fox's "Sleepy Hollow", but now NBC is bringing us a new version of a classic story with "Dracula", which is set to premiere on the Peacock network on October 25. Today we have a first look behind the scenes featurette from "Dracula" which will give you a good idea of what kind of vibe the show is going for.
It's the late 19th century, and the mysterious Dracula has arrived in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. He's especially interested in the new technology of electricity, which promises to brighten the night – useful for someone who avoids the sun. But he has another reason for his travels: he hopes to take revenge on those who cursed him with immortality centuries earlier. Everything seems to be going according to plan… until he becomes infatuated with a woman who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.
"Dracula" stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Jessica De Gouw, Thomas Kretschmann, Katie McGrath and Nonso Anozie.
The first episode premieres October 25 at 10/9c on NBC. Here's the synopsis for the premiere:
