After making the festival rounds for a few months, the slasher movie Bitch Ass has secured a North American distribution deal with Quiver Distribution, and the company is planning to release the film on October 14th. The same date Halloween Ends will be reaching theatres.
The feature debut of director Bill Posley, who worked as executive story editor on season 4 of Cobra Kai, Bitch Ass is said to blend “comedy, horror and social commentary” while telling the story of
a gang initiation gone wrong when a group of four recruits break into a house of horror and are forced by Bitch Ass to play deadly games for their lives. Win and you live – lose and you die.
Yep, the movie is called Bitch Ass because that’s what the killer is called.
Posley wrote the script with Jonathan Colomb, who is earning his first writing credit here. The film stars Teon Kelley (Tyler), Me’lisa Sellers (Split), Sheaun McKinney (The Neighborhood), and genre icon Tony Todd (Candyman), with Tunde Laleye (Black as Night) as Bitch Ass himself.
Quiver Distribution Co-Presidents Berry Meyerowitz and Jeff Sackman provided Variety with the following statement:
Following an enthusiastic reception at SXSW, we look forward to bringing Bitch Ass to horror fans across America who will undoubtedly appreciate the mix of comedy and thrills Bill brings to this unique genre film.”
Bitch Ass was produced by Zebra Kidd Productions. Posley, Colomb, and Laleye serve as executive producers alongside Shane Brown, Chris Quintos Cathcart, Bente Engelstoft, Wil Gelin, Erica Montolfo-Bura, and Honora Talbott.
