This would definately be something. Ever since HITMAN got some harsh reviews and seems to be a disappoint, my hopes for a video game adaptation that’s actually good have been dashed. But alas, some silver lining.
Joystiq.com are reporting that “a major film production company” is interested in bringing BIOSHOCK to the big screen! I gave BIOSHOCK a try when it first came out and I had a blast with it. Upon hearing this news I’m actually going to go back and play through it. I didn’t get far before moving onto something else, but apparently BIOSHOCK has a compelling story that screams movie. Plus the environment is extraordinary.
Now word has it the studio wants to do BIOSHOCK in front of the green screen, ala 300. With this setting, I can really see that working.
BIOSHOCK is about a cast-away in Rapture, an underwater Utopia torn apart by civil war. Caught between powerful forces, and hunted down by genetically modified “splicers” and deadly security systems, he has to come to grips with a deadly, mysterious world filled with powerful technology and fascinating characters.
This is only coming from a source right now and is far from officially announced, but we’ll definately be keeping an eye on it.
Water usually means girls in bikinis… sounds good to me.
