Where better to shoot a film about a haunted movie studio than an actual haunted movie studio? That’s the pitch with GHOST OF GOODNIGHT LANE, a horror flick that’s gearing up for production in Dallas starting next week.
The film will star Billy Zane, Lacey Chabert, Danielle Harris, Matt Dallas and Richard Tyson. Pretty solid cast there; can’t go wrong with The Zane!
Written and directed by Alin Bijan, the new horror film is inspired by real events occurring at Bijan’s Texas production company, Media World Studios. “We’ve known for a long time we had a ghost here, in the studio,” says Bijan. “Over the years, we kept a running log, kind of a diary, to document incidents as they occurred.”
The official synopsis for the film: When the staff inside a renovated film studio finds a co-worker dead one morning, the pieces of a forty year puzzle add up to an angry ghost who has let the last person step inside her house. But will they ever get out alive?
Executive producer J. D. Sanders had this to say: “A horror film about a haunted movie studio, that’s being shot in the same studio where the story was inspired, immediately creates buzz that can not be manufactured. We couldn’t resist being involved.”
Indeed, it’s a pretty damn cool idea; I’m sure we can expect plenty of viral marketing and behind-the-scenes stuff that alleges the cast and crew is regularly being tormented on the set by supernatural extras. And who knows? Maybe it’ll be true…
